Commando Challenge

COMMANDO/MARINE CHALLENGE

This event will be held on the weekend of the 6th/7th October 2012 at Woodbury Common in Devon. This challenge is being run by the Royal Marines to raise money for their nominated charities. Both Mick and myself completed this challenge last year with Mick doing the 17km 'Endurance Challenge' in June and then with myself and eldest son, Adam we did the 10km 'Marine Challenge' in October.

This year we intend to enter the 10km Marine Challenge as the 17km Endurance Challenge is to close to the event at Hadrians Wall. As we have already done this challenge we both know what good fun it is, half way around the course all participants have to complete the Royal Marines assualt course which includes running through rivers, diving through flooded tunnels, negotiating dark underground obstacles and various other trials that the Marines can think up. We shall be doing this for fun in a team of at least three.
